KUWAIT CITY, April 19: The Council of Ministers had decided to extend the partial curfew and suspension of work in ministries and government agencies until next Thursday, April 23, of this year, and work to resume on Sunday, April 26, but this seems unlikely in light of the current circumstances and the government efforts to bring home thousands of Kuwaitis stranded abroad following the suspension of regular commercial flights.

In this situation it is very likely that the Cabinet will extend the curfew for at least two more weeks and opt to resume work Sunday, May 10, 2020, which also looks unlikely given the current situation the country is passing through.

Sources say another two weeks will be needed to trace people those who were under domestic and institutional quarantine. In the event the curfew and suspension of work is extended until the end of May, this will coincide with the coming of Eid Al-Fitr, so most likely the option will be to resume work at the beginning of next June.
