Legendary Kuwaiti singers to perform at Bahrain Bay – Spring Culture Festival

KUWAIT CITY, March 6: Legendary Kuwaiti singers Abdallah Al-Rowaished and Nabil Shuail are set to present an unforgettable performance in the 13th Spring of Culture Annual Festival which will be organized by Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) on March 9 from 8:30 pm at Bahrain Bay.

According to a report by Bahrain News Agency, the Spring of Culture Festival has become a prominent event in Bahrain, contributing significantly to the country’s tourism sector. This year’s festival will feature the two distinguished singers from Kuwait Al- Rowaished and Shuail who are popular not only in the Gulf region but throughout the Arab world.

Abdallah Al-Rowaished, who has released over 30 albums so far, was born in 1961 in Kuwait. His first step in the music industry came at a young age when he started playing the oud. He formed the band called “Roba’y al-Kuwaiti” in 1973 but the band separated in 1979, after which Al-Rowaished went solo and released his first album in the early 1980s under Al- Nazaer Music Production Company. In 1995, he signed a contract with Saudi record company Rotana.

Nabil Shuail, nicknamed “The Nightingale of the Gulf”, has released over 26 albums so far. He is known for his ability to use multiple vocal layers while singing. He is also the first Gulf singer who sang with various Arabic dialects such as Egyptian, Moroccan and Lebanese. He was born in 1962 in Kuwait, and rose to fame in the ’80s with the song and album “Sikat Safar” under DanDoon Music Production Company. He is a pioneer in promoting Gulf music outside the Gulf region across the Arab world. Meanwhile, popular Kuwaiti hip-hop artiste “Daffy” and his crew will participate in a concert that is part of the #CelebrateKuwait event to be held in Dubai on March 9 at 8:00 pm, reports gulfnews. com.

Daffy expressed his excitement in performing at the event, saying, “I cannot wait to rock the stage in Dubai, which I consider as my second home”. This first-of-its-kind event that will feature Kuwaiti talents in Dubai will be organized by Emaar Properties and Slider Station, which is a leading Kuwaiti restaurant chain in the Gulf countries.

The activities of the event will include sports contests for families, friendly football matches, and exciting raffle draws for audience sponsored by Kuwait’s leading low-cost airline Jazeera Airways, as well as outdoor performances by popular Kuwaiti talents including Daffy and his band on March 9-10. Regarding the participation of Daffy and his band in the event, board member of KuwaitBC and Chairwoman of the organizing committee Luma Jasim Buresli said, “They are a Khaleeji band that has mastered the fusion of our local dialects with Western music. Music is a universal language. It represents a message of peace that speaks to different languages. This aspect has been successfully achieved by Daffy and his band”. Hip-hop artistes Flipperachi from Bahrain and Daffy are known for their fusion of hip hop and Khaleeji music, which has resulted in a new style. They are supported by the music director DJ Outlaw who is one of the pioneering hip hop artistes of the region and has been in the music industry for more than 20 years.
