Legal action vowed for violators of ban

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) announced it will start implementing the Administrative Decision No. “535/2015” from tomorrow (June 1, Tuesday) which forbids employees working in open areas from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm until the end of August. The PAM Director-General Ahmad Al-Mousa, stated in a press statement the authority’s inspection teams will follow up the implementation of the decision over the three months and organize surprise inspection campaigns on work sites to monitor and record any violations and take legal action against violators.

Al-Mousa pointed out that the decision aims to protect workers from the extreme heat of the weather during that period from eleven in the morning until four in the afternoon, pointing out that work in these areas during this period of the year is difficult due to harsh climatic conditions in which it is difficult to perform work in normal working hours. He indicated that the implementation of the decision to ban work at these times aims to organize work and not reduce working hours, stressing care not to expose projects that are implemented to any harm. He stated that the implementation of this decision during the past years has received the approval and acceptance of many companies in many sectors – Fares Al-Abdan Al-Seyassah, Arab Times Staff and Agencies
