KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: A Kuwaiti citizen was shot dead in the head by his brother using a Kalashnikov in Omariya area. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the shooting incident, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and found the deceased citizen.
They were informed by an eyewitness that the victim was killed by his brother who escaped in his car. Preliminary investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigations Department revealed that the suspect was recently released from prison after serving jail term.
Securitymen conducted a wide search and eventually caught the suspect following a police chase that ended when the suspect’s vehicle ran out of fuel. Securitymen found the Kalashnikov the suspect had used from the vehicle. He is currently undergoing interrogations on the motive of the crime after which he will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
Brutal assault: The Farwaniya Prosecutor has issued a warrant for the arrest of a Kuwaiti for manhandling his wife, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the man allegedly mercilessly beat his wife causing her fracture in the leg and bruises below the neck when he attempted to strangle her. The daily added, the woman who was forcefully detained in the house, took advantage of the man’s absence from home and made a distress call to the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. When police reached the spot they found the door of the room locked and the woman inside cried for help. Police then forced open the door and rescued the woman who was in pathetic condition. She has been referred to the Farwaniya Hospital.
