KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has cabled the racing champion Meshari Al-Thufairi, expressing congratulations on winning, for the fourth time, the gold in the Group-N and the title, the champion of the Middle East rallies 2018, in Lebanon.
His Highness the Amir lauded Al-Dhafiri’s distinguished accomplishment that depicted the Kuwaiti youth high-level sports’ capacities.
Their Highnesses the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, respectively Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, addressed cables of similar content to the champion.
Speaking to KUNA on Tuesday, Al-Thufairi said President of Fédération internationale d’automobile (FIA) Jean Todt came to Lebanon to honor the winners, in the presence of deputy president of FIA for the Middle East region Imad Lahoud.
He said this is the fourth time he wins the Middle East rally, noting that the three previous ones were in 2013, 2014 and 2017.
The Kuwaiti racer said that he dedicated the trophy to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people.
Automobile Touring Club of Lebanon hosted Tuesday evening a festival to hand over trophies to the winners in the competition.
