Kuwaitis and Expats spent more then KD 6 billion in last 6 months

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Citizens and expatriates spent KD 12.3 billion in the first six months of the current year – KD 466 million or four percent higher than the amount they spent within the same period in 2018, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to statistics prepared by the daily based on official figures from the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), citizens and expatriates spent more than KD 6 billion through sales points (direct purchases) in the first six months this year – KD 410 million higher than the amount spent last year.

Purchases through sales points in the country within the first six months of the year reached KD 5.6 billion – KD 421 million higher than the amount spent last year; while the amount of their purchases abroad declined to KD 446 million compared to KD 457 million last year.

The amount of ATM transactions (cash withdrawal) reached KD 6.29 billion in the first half of the year compared to KD 6.24 billion in 2018.
