KUWAIT CITY, April 6: A 33-year old Kuwaiti woman accused a Syrian expatriate of calling her at night, attempting to convince her into an illicit affair with him and sending her explicit messages and pictures. After she provided securitymen with the suspect’s mobile number, they carried out investigations to discover he is a Syrian expatriate living in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. A case of immoral instigation was filed against him and necessary steps were taken for his arrest.Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman lodged a complaint at Salmiya Police Station against an unknown individual, who was driving a Jeep, accusing him of stalking her after she refused to take his mobile number. Necessary action was taken to find and arrest himNot guilty in rape: The Criminal Court acquitted an individual who was accused of raping, threatening and incapacitating the plaintiff. The defense counsel Lawyer Mohammad Khaleel Al-Qattan explained that the Public Prosecution, during the trial, failed to convince the court about the actual incident, as the only testimony that the prosecution based its case on was the victim’s statement. He stressed that his client did not have any weapon to threaten and subdue the victim. Lawyer Al-Qattan revealed that the procedures taken to arrest his client were not based on an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, due to which the entire case can be deemed as invalid.
