Kuwaiti trio nabbed in attempt to run over police officer; Kuwaiti brutally assaults his wife

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26:  A young Kuwaiti citizen was arrested along with two compatriot women for attempting to run over a police officer of rank “Captain” and crashing into a police vehicle, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, the citizen was driving a car with two Kuwaiti women of ages 27 and 29. After they arrived at a security checkpoint in the chalets area, securitymen asked the driver to pull over because they noticed his disoriented state. However, the driver ignored their orders, tried to run over one of the officers and crashed into a police vehicle. One of the two ladies attempted to help the young man by falling on the ground and claiming that she was assaulted by the police. Eventually, securitymen arrested the three citizens and referred them to the concerned authorities.

Wife assaulted: Police have detained an unidentified Kuwaiti for brutally assaulting his wife and causing her serious injuries and fractures, reports Al-Rai daily. The wife who was rushed to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital, later filed a complaint against the husband and submitted a medical report. The Prosecution has filed a case (felon not misdemeanor) against the husband.

Wanted by State: Police from the Capital governorate have arrested a Kuwaiti who was wanted by the State Security police and handed him over to the Keifan Police Station, reports Al-Rai daily. The Kuwaiti was picked up by the police in Keifan and after he failed to show his ID, his name was checked in the system and it turned out he was wanted by the State Security.

Traffic mishaps: A water tanker overturned on Fahaheel road. In a separate incident, a tow truck overturned on First Ring Road. No injuries were reported to both the drivers, says Al-Seyassah. In the first incident, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the toppling of a water tanker on Fahaheel Road, securitymen, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the location. They discovered that the driver managed to escape without sustaining many injuries except for some minor bruises which were treated by paramedics at the site. Traffic officers launched investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
