Kuwaiti racers celebrate on podium during the Qatar Cross Country Rally
DOHA, April 21, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti auto racers secured leading positions in the first stage of Qatar Cross Country Rally (QCCR or Manateq 2018-2019) on Thursday. This Super Special Stage saw the Kuwaiti duo Nasser Al- Ajmi and Mohammad Al-Awadi finishing second in the T1 Petrol race on their Nissan in 11.55.44 hours, just after Qatar’s Sheikh Hamad bin Eid Al-Thani who finished first in 4.43.54 hours.In the T3 category Thuwaini Al-Nahel and Mohammad Al- Tahoun, of Kuwait, finished second and their compatriots Faisal Zaidan third, while Nasser Al-Nasr, of Qatar, came first. Qatar’s Adel Abdullah was crowned champion of this stage that gathered 19 teams from, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, besides the hosts. The second stage of the rally kicks off today, the third on Oct 12-13, the fourth on Nov 30, the fifth on Dec 21-22 and the final on Jan 18-19, 2019. The QCCR is the 4th round of the World Cup for Cross Country Rallies.
