KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: Kuwaitis whose nationalities have been withdrawn, including a batch of 51 people who were granted the citizenship last month upon a decision by the Council of Ministers are reportedly holding on to their official documents to conduct business as usual, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily quoting sources close to the issue said the concerned government authorities are responsible for the grave breaches that have been committed by these people because of their inaction.

The same sources said after a decision was taken to withdraw their nationalities, their documents should have been immediately withdrawn – documents such as the passports, Civil IDs, birth certificates and driving licences – which they continue to use to transfer their properties in the name of other people.

The sources added some of these people have transferred their livestock pens, farms, chalets and stables in the names of their relatives or their Kuwaiti spouses.

This is in addition to facilitating acquiring bank loans and buying goods in installments. The sources said some of them have even sold residential homes which were given to them by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare.
