KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Personnel from the Search and Follow-up Department of the Ministry of Interior have arrested a Syrian, his sons and sister for obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship on the strength of forged documents, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the main culprit was helped by a Kuwaiti to obtain the citizenship by submitting false information that the recipient of the citizenship is his step-brother.

Securitymen have now taken into custody the Syrian and his four sons who are all employed by the Ministry of Interior in the capacity of police officers — one holding the rank of major, one a head of a police station in the Capital Governorate, another a First Lieutenant and the fourth a police officer and the main culprit and his sister working for a vital department in the Ministry of Oil.

According to reports the sons and their sister have admitted that their father is Syrian. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities. The main accused, the Kuwaiti who helped the Syrian, is said to have left the country to evade arrest.
