BRUSSELS, Aug 18, (KUNA): The youngest international karting racer from Kuwait, Fahad Al-Khalid, has qualified to participate in the Karting World Championship following his participation in the IAME Series Benelux Karting events held in the Belgian city of Genk Sunday.

“I am delighted to be here today to support our champion. He is among the youngest of all participants. He is only 14 years old,” Kuwait’s Ambassador to Belgium, EU and NATO, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), by phone from Genk, 82 kms north east of Brussels.

“He is making all the Kuwaitis in Belgium extremely proud of him. The embassy is here to give him the support he needs,” he said.  “It is part of our duty as Kuwait embassy to support Kuwaitis participating in sport events in Belgium. We wish him all the best,” said Al-Budaiwi.

Fahad’s father Mohammad Al-Khalid expressed his great joy over the success of his son.   He told KUNA that his son qualified to participate in the Karting World Championship to be held at Le Mans, France, next week.
