Kuwaiti, Iraqi women held driving drunk

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Police have arrested two women – a Kuwaiti and an Iraqi — for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily. The women were caught in Rumaithiya for reckless driving which prompted the suspicion of patrolmen.

Police have seized from the women two bottles of alcohol. The Iraqi woman was wanted by law for failing to pay KD 13,000 debt.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate was arrested in Rumaithiya area in possession of 300 grams of heroin and a weighing scale used for drugs, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Drugs Control General Department received information about a Sri Lankan man selling drugs in Rumaithiya area, a team was formed for investigations.

They managed to catch him red-handed in a trap and he was arrested in possession of 300 grams of heroin and a weighing scale. The suspect was referred with the items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. And, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in front of his residence in Thaher area in possession of illicit drugs, including Crystal Meth, says Al-Seyassah.

The officers were on a round of the area when they saw the suspect walking and requested him to stop for checking due to a black plastic bag he was holding, but he tried to escape. The officers chased and arrested him after discovering the plastic bag contained a cocktail of illicit drug. He was referred to concerned authorities.
