Kuwaiti involved in major human trafficking; 10 expats held

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: Personnel from the Residence Affairs Security Department have arrested a Kuwaiti for sponsoring 86 workers on forged government contracts, reports Al-Rai daily. Without going into details the daily said the citizen has been referred to the Public Prosecution. However, earlier it was reported a Kuwaiti owner of a general trading and contracting company was involved in forgery and had sponsored 86 workers for the Ministry of Education.

When the ministries of Interior and Social Affairs and Labor learned about the suspicious contract, securitymen conducted investigations and coordinated with Ministry of Education to discover the truth. It was also reported the authorities are checking a list of companies owned by the suspect and number of people sponsored by him. Sources said persons ‘sponsored’ by the runaway suspect will be arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution.

Top notch face probe: Some senior employees working in the oil sector are expected to be referred to the concerned authorities for interrogation following disagreements with the ‘inhouse’ auditors, reports Al-Shahed daily. Reliable oil sources familiar with the issue said 275 violations have been recorded against the senior employees who plan to review the report of the auditors and consult their advisers from outside the sector either to find a solution or find a way out of the ‘stalemate’.

10 expats held: The General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations recently organized an intense campaign in the Ardhiya Industrial Area and arrested 10 expatriates for violating residence law and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily.
