Kuwaiti fined for setting alight police station

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Faisal Al-Askari, imposed KD 300 fine on a citizen who set fire to Salwa Police Station and caused material losses. Case files indicate the citizen used a lighter to set fire to a blanket at the police station where he is detained as he was protesting against the police officers’ lack of response to his request to contact his relatives.

Attorney Esmat Al-Kharbotli represented the citizen in court which he asked to show compassion to his client and requested for acquittal. An unidentified individual was arrested at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint in possession of tools used for black magic.

According to security sources, customs officers at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint were inspecting the luggage of the suspect who was leaving the country and found the illicit items in his possession. He was arrested and referred with the items to the concerned authorities for investigations. And, an Arab expatriate was arrested at Kuwait International Airport in possession of sex stimulant pills which he tried to smuggle into the country. He was referred with the pills to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
