Kuwaiti citizen run over, dies in family feud; Syrian stabbed – ‘Block lifted, clear traffic fines’

KUWAIT CITY, June 13: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti citizen was killed when he was run over by his 28-year old cousin by mistake during a quarrel over a family feud in Taima area. According to security sources, a quarrel broke out among some related juveniles in Taima area which developed when the adults became involved. During the quarrel, the victim was run over by his cousin by mistake.

Even though first aid was administered to the victim and he was referred to the nearest hospital, he had died. Jahra securitymen rushed to the location after receiving information about the quarrel. A case was registered. The suspect surrendered himself at Taima Police Station and the corpse was referred to the Forensics Department.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen stabbed a Syrian expatriate in his shoulder during a quarrel behind a commercial complex in Farwaniya area. When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the incident, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and discovered that some bystanders settled the quarrel and referred the victim to Farwaniya Hospital. Investigations revealed that a Kuwaiti citizen stabbed the victim over a former dispute. Necessary action was taken and securitymen have launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.

‘Settle your account’: Director of Traffic Violation Investigation Department Brigadier Mohsin Al-Mikhail disclosed the General Traffic Department from June 12 will open for one month all locked traffic violations for 2015—except for major offenses such as driving without license, excessive speeding, and violations for 2016. In a statement, Al-Mikhail said violators can pay their fines via the website of the Ministry of Interior or visit relevant departments in all traffic directorates across the governorates. As regards seized vehicles and documents such as driving licenses, Al-Mikhail urged the owners to check with traffic violation investigation departments in all directorates. He noted the sector’s keenness to facilitate services provided to citizens and expatriates, and pointed to fruitful cooperation between the sector and the Public Relations and Security Information Department. It called on citizens and expatriates to seize the opportunity offered in the holy month Ramadan to settle traffic fines.
