The Kuwaiti team for the disabled is leaving for Brazil on Thursday to take part in the fifteenth Summer Paralympic Games to be held in Brazil Sept 7-18. Five members of the team will compete in athletics, and one in shooting, chairman of the Kuwait Disabled Sport Club Shafi Al-Hajri told KUNA on Wednesday.
They qualified for the Rio 2016 Paralympics after they won in regional and international tournaments, Al-Hajri said. He stressed that the team is competing in Rio under the Kuwaiti flag. The Kuwait Disabled Sport Club has worked hard to prepare the athletes for the Rio competitions, through training camps both at home and abroad, he said. (KUNA)
