Kuwaiti and his Egyptian girlfriend caught drunk

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law and had been sentenced in absentia for entering a house with the intention of committing a crime and the young woman, believed to be an Egyptian who was with him at the time of arrest was also wanted by law because her family had filed a missing person’s report against her in the Hawalli governorate police station, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, the couple was arrested while driving along the King Fahd Road because when a police patrol car ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over, he stepped on the gas pedal and tried in vain to escape. At the time of arrest they were found in possession of a home-made bottle of liquor, ice cubes and cups.

Meanwhile, the Al-Anba daily said the Environment Protection Police organized a campaign targeting commercial complexes in Jahra, Monday to crack down on smokers in no-smoking areas. A security source said the campaign resulted in the arrest of 30 people – Kuwaitis and expatriates – and their referral to the Environment Protection Agency.
