Kuwaiti Al-Qallaf bags two gold, bronze at US fencing event

WASHINGTON, Jan 11, (KUNA): Tareq Al-Qallaf clinched his second gold medal in the wheelchair sabre event of the North American Cup for fencing on Sunday along with a bronze he earlier took home.

The Kuwaiti wheelchair fencer previously won the epee event and bagged a bronze in the foil competition over the past two days at the NAC held in St Louis, Missouri.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Qallaf dedicated his medals to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti people and his sponsors, all of whom are Kuwaiti companies.

He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support he has been receiving from His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Information Minister and Minister of Youth Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
