AMMAN, Sept 15: The Kuwaiti women’s handball team lost to its Syrian counterpart (32-28) in its first international appearance in the 18th Asian Championship qualifying for the World Cup hosted by Jordan. Both teams matched equally but the experienced Syrian women’s team was leading by (16-13) at the end of first half.
In the second half Kuwait team started positively keeping up the pressure with better play, where in the first quarter of second half was able to reduce the difference with one goal margin. But later the Syrian team having experience on their side was able to overcome the pressure and win the game at the end. The Kuwaiti team is scheduled to play tomorrow, against Iran at 3 pm Amman time, in its second match in the second group.(KUNA)
