Kuwait urges citizens in Rome to avoid crowds

ROME, March 25, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Embassy to Italy Friday urged Kuwaiti citizens in Rome to avoid crowds and protests to be held during a European Union summit, due in central Rome on Saturday, marking EU foundation.

The embassy, in a statement, called on Kuwaiti citizens to abide by instructions issued by the Italian police and security authorities which would be enforced on Saturday. The 27 leaders of the EU member countries will meet in the Italian capital tomorrow to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaties, which established the union.

They will adopt a political declaration reaffirming their commitment to continue to work together within the EU. The embassy of Kuwait advised nationals to be vigilant for their own safety.
