Kuwait, UAE Olympic committees’ chiefs discuss movement developments

DUBAI, Nov 21: The President of Kuwait’s Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday discussed the happenings of the Olympic movement.

The general assembly highlighted Olympic movement in Asia by displaying developments in the four upcoming Olympic games hosted in Asia; Hangzhou 2022, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Doha 2030 and Riyadh 2034.The meeting handled various topics in relation to Olympic games amongst which sixth Asian indoor and martial arts games, as well as third Asian youth games. This came during Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad’s reception of Sheikh Fahad bin Nasser Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the 40th Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly. The gathering featured heads and representatives of the Olympic committee in Asia.

The two sides covered the possibility of activating further constructive companies between the two sides and boosting bilateral cooperation to serve the Olympic movement and achieve the desired goals. They also reviewed the most outstanding sports events and occasions including the third edition of Gulf Sports Games to be hosted by Kuwait on January 19. The event will be one of the most important gathering of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) athletes. (KUNA)
