Kuwait tied with Iraq qualifies for the quarter-finals

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The Kuwaiti national football team qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Futsal Championship which is being hosted by Kuwait until Oct 8. In group stages Kuwait drew with Iraq 2-2 in the third game to clinch second place in the first group.

Kuwait started the match strongly, as Kuwait’s Abdul Rahman Al-Wadi scored the first goal in the second minute. Iraq turned the heat on after Iraqi player Salem Faisal scored in the 13th and 18th minutes. Kuwait’s Abdul Rahman Al-Masbahi scored the equalizer in the 21st minute, ending the match in a draw. Kuwait acquired 5 points while for Iraq it was the end of the tournament.  Meanwhile Thailand topped the group by defeating Oman 6-1. Where it led the group after this victory, acquiring seven points through which it secured a place in the quarter-finals. For Oman it was the end of the tournament.

Tajikistan qualified in Group B after defeating Turkmenistan 8-5 to accompany Uzbekistan. scored by Adrisyurov (four goals), Turkmenistan player Sherry Bayramradiyev (an own goal), Fayez Serdrov (two goals) and Muhammedjohn Sharipov (goal), while Turkmenistan Molkaman Annafulev scored a hat-trick. ) and the player Shahidov (two goals) to end the match with this result.

In the quarter finals Kuwait will meet Uzbekistan, while Thailand will play against Tajikistan. On Sunday for the third match in group stages Lebanon plays Iran, China Taipei plays Indonesia, while South Korea plays in the fourth game against Saudi Arabia and Vietnam plays Japan.
