Jeddah Club hand Bahraini Club’s 2nd loss in 1st Gulf ice hockey championship

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: Kuwait’s ice hockey team ‘Kuwait Stars’ defeated Oman’s Rockies Club by 5 goals to nothing in the second match of the first ice hockey championship for Gulf clubs that kicked off last Tuesday at Kuwait’s Ice Skating Rink with the participation of teams from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Oman and the host country, Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti side comprising local and professional players displayed great control of the game in both attacking and defending. This is their second victory in the tournament, which puts them at the top of the table.

In the second match of the day, Saudi’s Jeddah Club received a deserving win over the ‘Bahraini’ club in its first match of the championship with 12 goals to 8. This is the second defeat suffered by ‘Bahraini’ Club.

The five-day championship is sponsored by the Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Muhammad Al-Jabri, and organized by Kuwait Winter Games Club on a league system, with each team squaring off against each other once. According to the championship regulations, each team is allowed five professional players.
