Kuwait Sports Club were crowned champions of the Amiri Cup for the 13th time in history after spanking Al-Arabi Sports Club 3-0 Tuesday.
Essa Waleed scored an own goal against his team in favor of Kuwait Club at the sixth minute of the game, while Jumah Sa’eed and Hussein Al-Harbi scored the remaining two goals in the 65 and 88 minutes respectively to cap the victory in a final match played inside the main bowl of Jaber International Stadium. With this victory, the Whites (as popularly called) have successfully boosted the number of silverwares in their kitty with a third laurel in the current season alone.
They have also achieved another triple by winning the championship three times consecutively, which will enable them keep the trophy permanently in their Keifan store. The team had achieved the same feat twice in the past and has thus imposed the need to get a new trophy for the most expensive championship next season
