Kuwait Sports Club chairman Al-Hajri hails nat’l disabled team’s achievement

Kuwait National Disabled Team celebrate after the 9th FAZAA International Athletics Competition concluded

Chairman of the Kuwait Sports Club for the Disabled and Head of the participating delegation ShafiAl-Hajri commended the Kuwait national disabled team for bagging a total of 15 medals (4 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze) in the Ninth FAZAA International Athletics Competition, which is part of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, after its activities concluded on Thursday, March 23 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

He said the players gave their best performance, which made them shine, despite the high level of competitiveness displayed by the other teams. Al-Hajri praised Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting State Minister for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan and officials from the Public Authority for Sports for their continuous support of the club’s activities both locally and internationally, which has greatly contributed in realizing achievements in field of Kuwaiti sports.

In this year’s competition, Kuwait was represented by 23 players of various disability categories. The entire competition witnessed the participation of 358 players who represented 42 countries. The FAZAA International Athletics Competition is part of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, which has been organized by the Dubai Club for the Disabled on March 20-23 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. This event has been taking place every year since 2009 and has been seeing a steady increase in the number of participants and the level of competition.
