SEOUL, May 8, (KUNA): His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation arrived in Seoul on Sunday on a four-day official visit to the Republic of Korea, the third leg of an Asian tour that will also take him to Japan.

His Highness the Premier was received in Seoul Air Base by Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, KANG Ho-in and Kuwait’s Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abul, Kuwait’s Ambassador to South Korea Jassim Al-Bedaiwi and a host of senior officials.

His Highness the Premier was given an official reception and greeted by an honor guard, and the national anthem of Kuwait was played. In remarks to the media, His Highness expressed pride for visiting the Republic of Korea which has deeprooted relations with Kuwait.

He stressed Kuwait’s keenness to enhance bilateral relations in vital and important sectors that would serve interests of both countries, especially in the technology, energy and investment fields. He said that South Korea is a role model that Kuwait seeks to learn from to execute its 2035 vision.

South Korea is Kuwait’s largest trade partner and largest oil importer which amounted to over 400,000 barrels a day while it is the largest exporter to Kuwait, accounting for 70 percent of Kuwait’s imports in 2013- 2014.
