Kuwait rank 4th in ‘double-trap’

DOHA, Feb 22, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti champion Ahmad Al-Afasi on Monday came fourth in double-trap competition held as part of Qatar’s international shooting tournament.

The double-trap competition was won by the Italian, Marco Innocenti. Second came his fellow citizen, Daniele Di Spigno, while the Russian, Vasily Mosin, ranked third.

Innocenti, after the crowning, said in a press statement that the competition was very heated, lauding Qatar’s successful organization of the international tournament.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti referee, Muath Al-Rashed, expressed satisfaction at the Kuwaiti performance in this category, facing world’s top champions in the game and coming out among the top winners in a neck-and-neck contest.

The nine-day championship got underway on Thursday. In addition to the Kuwaiti team of top shooters, there 280 competitors involved in the contests, representing 37 Gulf, Arab and foreign countries.
