KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7, (Agencies): Kuwait has recently filed several complaints with the United Nations regarding the repeated violations committed by the Iranian Navy on Kuwaiti territorial waters, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to informed sources, the cases of Iranian trespassing specifically occurred on nine Kuwaiti oil rigs. They were committed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. A citizen was subjected to an inspection by soldiers on board a boat belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard near one of the Kuwaiti oil rigs. He was fishing near the Kuwaiti oil rig when he was stopped by the Iranian boat.
The soldiers questioned him and made him sign a pledge in Iranian language. Kuwait last week refuted news by the Reuters news agency regarding Iran’s exploitation of Kuwaiti waters to deliver arms and military assistance to the Houthis in Yemen, said a statement by the Foreign Ministry. A source at the Ministry said that the country’s waters were under total control of the Kuwaiti navy and coast guard, adding that there were no reports of suspicious marine movements or activities. The ministerial source called on media outlets to investigate matters more thoroughly before issuing any news on the matter.
