HAMBURG, Germany, Aug 27, (KUNA): National carrier Kuwait Airways will soon receive its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, seen as a “new breed” of airliners, said the company’s chairman Yousef Al-Jassim.

Kuwait Airways will officially claim the airliner amid a lavish ceremony planned for Thursday at the European aircraft-maker’s headquarters in Germany’s second largest city of Hamburg, Al-Jassim told KUNA.

On the Airbus A320neo plane, he said it would be the first out of a fleet of 15 aircrafts, all of which the company will receive intermittently through the year 2026. The new aircrafts will help create a more diverse and comprehensive itinerary for the company, allowing it to fly to new destinations across the globe, he added.

Kuwait’s flag carrier will always seek to garner the trust of its clientele through providing customers with high-quality services at affordable prices, Al-Jassim explained, highlighting passenger convenience as the company’s ultimate goal. Kuwait Airways signed a contract with Airbus in December of 2013 to purchase 25 types of A350 and A320neo, in addition to renting 12 planes of A330 and A320 pending delivery of the aircraft.
