50-dish Trap competition to be launched as part of HH Amir Int’l Shooting GPrix

KUWAIT CITY, March 22: The qualifiers for the 50-dish “Trap” shooting competition will be launched as part of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad International Shooting Grand Prix which will be held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Ranges Complex, with the participation of more than 200 male and female shooters representing 20 Arab and foreign countries.

The “Trap” finals for women begin at 1:30, while the men’s finals start at 3:00 p.m., and the award ceremony will be held at 4:30. Today’s activities witness the start of official skeet training. In the Kuwaiti-Japanese Friendship Championship, which was held in cooperation with the Paralympic Committee to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Kuwait came third by Ali Farhan Al-Mutairi and Al-Anoud- Hamed Al-Dhafiri. The organizing committee and to encourage the shooting of the Paralympic Committee decided to honor the three Kuwaiti teams that got advanced positions. The champions were crowned by the President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, Eng. Duaij Al- Otaibi, Secretary General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, Obaid Al-Osaimi, and Abdulaziz Al- Mutairi, Chairman of the Paralympic Shooting Committee.

The head of the Egyptian Shooting Federation, Hazem Hosni, stressed that Arab shooting works according to a strong system led by Eng. Duaij Al- Otaibi, and the world is talking about the strength of this Arab system in light of a strong Arab union supported by the State of Kuwait. “We saw the amendment of the law of the International Federation, and Kuwait participated in the World Championship of UFOs, which was held in Cyprus, and succeeded in achieving two medals,” Hosni added. Kuwaiti shooter Abdul Rahman Al-Faihan said that the return of the Prince’s International Shooting Championship was of great importance to the shooting world in general, praising the Kuwaiti Shooting Federation, which pampered all obstacles with the aim of establishing the tournament, which is a great friction and an appropriate opportunity to learn about the levels and benefit from them. For her part, Moroccan shooter Ibtisam Al-Marghi said that her participation in the HH the Emir of the country’s international championship comes within the framework of her endeavor to raise her level due to the high levels of the tournament and the distinguished participation of male and female shooters of the distinguished classification, which gives her the opportunity to compete with the elite of female shooters. Al-Marghi praised the shooting range complex and said that it is very distinguished, comparable to the best international fields and has everything that would provide high comfort for competitors and competitions.
