Kuwait Airways launches ‘Office of Humanitarian Services’ for needy, unwell passengers

KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Chairman of Board of Directors of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) Yousef Abdulhameed Al-Jassem declared that KAC has decided to open an office “Office of Humanitarian Services” for providing humanitarian services to needy and unwell passengers and their companions.

In a press release, he affirmed that this decision is in line with the directives issued by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah regarding humanitarian activities and based on the fact that Kuwait is the International Humanitarian Center. Al-Jassem explained that the office will pay the trivial amounts of fees that have resulted in travel ban on poor and needy laborers.

It will provide services related to wheelchairs, internal transportation and shipping for passengers. KAC will also pay for the expenses of obtaining attorney of power and hiring lawyers for needy passenger. Other services to be provided to the passengers include coordinating with the relevant embassy and following up on the deported laborers in coordination with the shield center and General Department for Deportation Affairs.

KAC will provide copies of the contracts to the laborers translated in their languages in order for them to know about their rights and duties according to the law of Kuwait. It will provide meals to the laborers in case their sponsors delay in receiving them. The company will also provide temporary insurance policy to laborers for free via a local insurance company. Al-Jassem declared that the needy passengers can contact the hotline No. 1802234 for support.
