Kuwait Airport Customs seizes four drug smugglers

KUWAIT CITY, July 7: The Director of Air Customs, Mutlaq Al-Enezi, has referred 4 passengers to the competent authorities of the Ministry of Interior for attempting to smuggle quantities of marijuana, hashish, marijuana seeds and hash oil into the country, reports Al- Anba daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the arrests were made at T4, T1 and T5. At the T4 customs officers seized 2 pieces of narcotic substance and the drugs wrapping paper and a cigarette rolling machine from a passenger arriving from a European country.

At the same terminal the customs officers arrested another passenger who tried to smuggle marijuana seeds mixed with tea powder. The passenger at T1 came from a Gulf state and was caught for attempting to smuggle into the country 9 pieces of hashish and another passenger for attempting to smuggle a quantity of hashish.

They have been referred to the General Department of Drugs Control. The arrests came within the framework of implementing the directives of the Director General of the General Administration of Customs, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, and the Deputy Director-General for Port Affairs, Sheikh Faisal Al- Abdullah Al-Sabah, with vigilance of customs officers as a deterrent to prevent the smuggling of prohibited items and narcotics.
