KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Ports Authority (KPA) has denied the suspension of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project for further study. In a statement, KPA said that what was circulated on social media is only a part of what the KPA Director-General, Sheikh Yousef Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, said during a discussion.

KPA stressed that it maintains a recorded copy of the full dialogue, denying that the project has been completely suspended. According to the statement, the director-general said that the project was suspended regarding a constructional aspect only.

The KPA pointed out that the director-general shed light on the upcoming projects under the 2035 development plan and did not address the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project. It also affirmed that the translation of the dialogue was done in an inaccurate manner, which caused a change in meaning and confusion. The KPA called on all media outlets and news accounts on social networking sites to be accurate and to obtain news and statements from the official sources.
