Korean Embassy holds ‘Kuwait Kimchi Class’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Middle East Chapter of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Commission (PUAC) held a Korean Culinary event, ‘Kuwait Kimchi Class 2022’, on Tuesday, Nov 22, at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the State of Kuwait. Kimchi is not simply a side dish for most Koreans but a representative cultural icon of Korea. This typical Korean food is world-renowned as the most authentic Korean dish, praised for its nutritional value as well as unique flavor and taste.

The Embassy and PUAC have partnered to bring a Kimchi Class to Kuwait, which aims to give an unprecedented opportunity to interact with leading K-culture educators, Dr. Jiyoung Hong, professor at College of Southern Nevada, US. The class covered everything about making and enjoying Kimchi from scratch, preparation for ingredients, Makin- Kimchi, and Dish paring. This culinary event also allowed all participants to experience hands-on Kimchi making and sampling six kinds of Kimchies with different ingredients and recipes. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Byungha Chung, welcomed visitors who love Korean foods, specifically Kimchi, introducing Kimchi as Korean soul food having historical and sentimental ties and a distinct identity.
