KOC Green overwhelm KOC Blue

Mumbaikars vs Kuwait Hockey Kings (KHK)

Mumbaikars, KIH outclass rivals

KUWAIT CITY, April 10: The Kuwait Independents Hockey Tournament began its fifth round on April 5. The following three matches started off in high gear.

In the first match of the day, Mumbaikars’ Shoaib Maroof stole the show with a hat trick of goals. The first one came in the first half followed by two in the second half. Although it was a one-sided game, KHK gave the Mumbaikars a good fight as they tried their best through Waleed, Abdul Kareem and Naveed to get on the scorecard. The Mumbaikars’ defense however did not give KHK a chance as the game ended 3-0.

In the second match, KIH took the lead through Sohail Alam and Harman in the first half. International Red tried to fight back but could not get the better of the KIH defense. In the second half, KIH went on a rampage and destroyed International Red in a 5-0 win. Sohail scored two goals while Nijil T.D. scored three to get the second hat trick of the day.

In the last match of the day, KOC Green took on KOC Blue. Both teams played a fast-paced game right from the start. KOC Green scored first from a short corner through Mustaq.

However, Hosam Jabran equalized for KOC Blue shortly after giving them the momentum they needed. From there KOC Blue scored two more goals in the first half through Mohamed Mahmoud. In the second half, KOC Blue fired five more goals to earn a blistering 8-1 win.
