KIFF defending champions AKFC to kick-start season

AKFC – Defending Champions of JP D’Mello Memorial League – Season 2017-18

New season of Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) Season 2018-19 will kickoff at Bayan Grounds Oct 19, 2018. Defending KIFF League Champions AKFC (All Kerala FC) will take on Skynet Miracles in the inaugural match.

A number of dignitaries are expected to attend the inauguration including ex-KIFF presidents, current club presidents, KIFF Founder Members, IFRA Members, KEFAK Members, etc. Derick Gomindes, who was earlier elected at the KIFF AGM to continue as president for a second term running, will declare the season open. KIFF SEASON 2018-19 The new KIFF season is made up of 12 strong teams.

Players, coaches and teams give their best throughout the season to ensure they are top of their game; they spend many hours fueling their brain, going over tactics and set pieces, working on their confidence and motivating themselves and teammates. Apart from the 11-aside League, other 11-aside and 7-aside tournaments are also packed into the KIFF program for the season.

KIFF managing committee for the season consists of: Derick Gomindes (Goa Maroons) – President Robert Bernard (Indian Strikers) – Vice-President Michael Pereira (Goa FC) – Sports Secretary Ziddik Sharaf (Pen Friends United) – Treasurer Majeed P.A. (Soccer Kerala) – Asst Sports Secretary Fouad (All Kerala FC) – Reliever Clarence Pires (Don Bosco Oratory) – P.R.O A. Sameer (FC Sparx) – Registrar KIFF league KIFF League for JP D’Mello Rolling Trophy is the major competition for participating teams. The League is divided into 2 groups playing in a round-robin league. Top 4 teams from each group qualify for a knockout phase.

The season will culminate with a grand finale later in the summer of 2019. Participating teams Participating clubs for the league include: All Kerala Football Club (AKFC), AVC Sports & Cultural Association, Don Bosco Oratory, FC Sparx, GOA Maroons, GOA FC, Indian Strikers, Pen Friends United, Santos United, Skynet Miracles SC, Soccer Kerala and United Goans Centre.
