KD 700 bribe flouts travel ban – Airport worker held

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: A citizen working in the immigration office (civilian) in Saad Abdullah Airport was arrested for allowing an Egyptian to leave the country despite the travel ban imposed on him.

In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media General Department in the Ministry of Interior disclosed the incident was discovered when the name of the Egyptian appeared on the passengers list of an aircraft departing from Kuwait.

During interrogation, the citizen admitted that he stamped the passport and boarding pass of the Egyptian in exchange for KD 700. The department confirmed that a case was filed against the citizen and he was referred to the concerned authority.
