KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: The Environment Public Authority (EPA) has stressed the need for the public to remain committed to protecting the environment; especially now that more people are going out on picnics due to the good weather and the ban on camping, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The authority advised the public to refrain from leaving waste behind and to be careful in using coal, particularly the practice of igniting coal directly on the ground. Public Relations Department Director at EPA Sheikha Al-Ibrahim told the daily that igniting coal on the ground, instead of using the appropriate equipment, is punishable by law – fine of KD250 – as stipulated in the Environmental Law.
