K2E2 Thunders

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: In dire need of a performance that will put them back into the elite 6, the K2E2 Thunders rose to the occasion in style as they achieved the feat by snapping the 10-match winning streak of the DMDA Bowleros in their scheduled elimination round week eleven encounter at the on-going 2016-2017 2nd FTBK-Robinson’s Tenpin Bowling Team Tournament being held at the Cozmo Entertainment Center bowling lanes in Salmiya.

Heading the list of other week eleven winners was Rock N Bowl who bounced back from a mediocre week 10 outing by posting the best team output of the week while also rolling past their respective rivals were World Class Siete Pares 1 and Cozmo Salmiya.

In seventh place prior to their match against tournament front runner and still unbeaten DMDA Bowleros, the roller coaster form of K2E2 Thunders was at its peak early in the match.

Bannered by the foursome of Edwin Latoja, Jess Farne, Lee Mills and Kim Alinea, K2E2 subdued DMDA in the opening game 826-711.

On the next game of the match with Butch Alinea relieving his son Kim of lane duties, the Thunders once again pounded the Bowleros 843-733. Despite being in the brink of absorbing their first loss, the architectural designers led by Tito Tamayo, Elvie Sotio, Alfred Avila and Jun Guerra came back strong in game three with an 833-788 victory.

With a game left to bowl and K2E2 still way ahead 2457-2277, DMDA succeeded in grabbing the final game 782-731 but the K2E2 Thunders nevertheless emerged victorious with a final winning tally of 3213-3062 pin falls. As a consolation, DMDA remained well ahead of the field despite the setback.

Coming off from a forgettable tenth week defeat, the Rock N Bowl pin busters showed why they cannot be taken lightly as they outlasted the once highly regarded NLB Corporation keglers 823-772 and 809-772 in games one and two of the 4-game series match. Spearheaded by Romy Fermil, Liza Catapia, Rod LLait, Norie Sairat and Tariq Sairat, Rock N Bowl completed the total annihilation of their rivals by snatching the remaining two games 791-738 and 907-835 to book a total pin falls victory of 3330-3117.

Led by Mousa Abdullah, Ronald Ferolino, Vicky Navarro and Benny Chan, Strikers X looked formidable in the opening game where they totally outclassed World Class in a 959-671 rout.

Shaken by the one sided defeat, World Class came back to life in the next game and turned back Strikers X in a closely contested game 813-762. With the raging fire of Strikers X in game one already a mere flicker, the rampaging crew of World Class composed of Anastasius Menezes, Carol Awadi, Ted Ashley and Jason Baker declared fire out as they romped home with 905-647 and 794-678 victories in games three and four.
