Jordan Elites demolish Asian Air Safari, NUSANTARA join ‘Magic 8’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: Powerhouses Jordan Elites down the Asian Air Safari 3,245-2,589, X-Trikerz wrecked the Falcon Cargo team 3,012-2,798, the NUSANTARA team joined the ‘Magic 8’ after sweeping the three-game series against GOAN Strikers 2,879-2,490 while IBL Tigers surprised the top rank UNIMONI Exchange 2,788-2,741 in the second week of the elimination round of the 2019 Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait 33rd Anniversary Cup – Tenpin Bowling League at the Kuwait Bowling Sporting Club Complex in Salmiya, Kuwait. Other teams that registered victory against their tormentors were Swooping Eagles vs Al Qassem (2,818-2,624), N 10 MID8TORS vs SKARZ (2,818-2,629) and KRAHS vs Split Happens (2,982-2,831).

A nice match up was turn into nightmare when Jordan Elites who fielded its super bowlers against another mighty team Asian Air Safari but showed up with just three players that resulted to 1,063-845, 1,116-851, 1,041-893 humiliating defeat. Prize-catch Fadi Al Masri was the top pointer with his 220, 186, 194 (600) supported by Ali Arqoub (587), Ali Hikmat (558), Yousef Waleed (550) and lady bowler Basma Ammar who scored 504 points. Asian Air Safari’s courageous warriors were Hussein Salman (607), Aqeel Al Farisy (602) and Mohammad Karam (510). With the win, Jordan Elites snatched the top post from UNIMONI and winning the Weekly Team High Team Series (3,120) and also Men’s Class C Yousef Waleed grabbing from Daryl Armstrong (203-197). For the loss Asian Air Safari was down from fourth to ninth position.

Both members of the ‘Magic 8’, X-Trikerz subdued the Falcon Int’l Cargo in the first two rounds 992-919 and 1,039-842 with 260 points advantage. But in the third game, the Falcon retaliated and scored 1,037 over 956 and ended in the final score of 3,012-2,798. With the win-lose results, X-Trikerz climbed from eight place to fourth while the loser Falcon Cargo remain holding the second spot. The victorious team top scorer was an ex-Falcon forefront Jayson Gamba with his 183, 204, 222 (609), assisted by Joe Presenta (537), Ceddie Faa (468), Bima Nitikusumo (328), Imelda Daguio (271), Chris Carungay (150) and Reygan Percy (145) while the losers big pointer was the new recruit Melvin Alabado (540), followed Jhon Narvaza (534), Jess Tolentino (445), Adolfo Prena (437) and Christine Moreno (409).

The IBL Tigers outscored the disabled UNIMONI Exchange in the first game 985-790 although losing the second and third games of the 3-game series 873-993, 905-958 but finally won the game with minimal leverage. Ulysses Menezes (530) was the biggest contributor, supported by Fatima Sequiera (451), Ashok Palayil (405), Nadine Dias (392), Sheldon Gonsalves (255) and Jason D’ Sousa (180) while UNIMONI’s Rashid Aker Ali (553) Rudy de Lima (535), Alex Nodalo (477) and Ahmad Fadil Karam (323). With the loss, UNIMONI were ejected from the summit down to third spot while IBL Tigers remain in the twelfth position. NUSANTARA swept the three-game series against GOAN Strikers 933-810, 973-796, 931-884 (2,879-2,490) and placed them in the last seat of the ‘Magic 8’ from tenth position. The top scorer was Joe Sto. Domingo (530) followed by Abdul Rahman Abdullah (487), Tanjung Gantosori (440), Bert Alilay (315), Ahmad Fahmi Husein (283) and Robert Opena (270). For GOAN the bowlers were Colin Eric Nelson, Brian Fernandes and Lloyd D’Sousa.

The encounter between Swooping Eagles and shorthanded Al Qassem team proved Eagles superiority but was not able to demolish the Kuwaiti team. They won the first two games 948-823, 932-837 but lost the third game 913-997. Riz Roque (510) was the top pointer assisted by Jessica Balagat (508), Alonzo Bush (439), Angie Bush (435), Mona Corpuz (240) and Benjie Roque (130) while the three warriors of Al Qassem were Saleh Faraj (596) who also snatched the Class B High Game from Robert Opena of NUSANTARA  (279-225), Fadel Al Qassem (584) and Ali Jawli (504). Finally, the KRAHS team overwhelmed the Split Happens (former Panda team) (2,982- 2,893). Moises Amahan top-scored with 526 points supported by Rene Marzan (513), Mar Evanglista with Joel Tizon with 504 points apiece, Eddie Pena (344) and Eden Danan (116). The Intimidators defeated SKARZ 2,848-2,629 with the heroic acts of Hussain Adnan (563), Alma Turley (481) and Lito Michael (412).

The Individual Best Results in the Individual High Game: Men’s Class A/O – Mousa Abdullah of UNIMONI Exchange kept the highest score of 259 points; in Class B – Al Qassem’s Saleh Faraj snatched from NUSANTARA’s Robert Opena (279-225); in Class C – Jordan Elites’ Yousef Waleed grabbed from Daryll Armstrong of N 10 MID8TORS (203-197); while in Ladies division Class A – Asian Air Safari’s Sonia Mathews scored 196 points and in Class B – Christene Moreno had 197 points. In the Individual High Average, Men’s Class A/O – Mousa Abdullah of UNIMONI gets the highest points of 218.7; in Class B – Al Qassem Saleh Faraj seized from Melvin Alabado of Falcon Cargo (203.5-193.00); Class C – Falcon Cargo’s John Narvaza better his record (167.0-172.5) and in the Ladies division, Class A – Sonia Mathews (194) and in Class B – Falcon Cargo’s Christine Moreno was over ruled by Jessica Balagat (165.2-183.3).
