KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16 (KUNA): Racers from the Basel Al Sabah Motor Racing Club Meshari and Salem Al-Dhufairi along with their pit crew members Mubarak and Fares Al-Dhufairi are participating in the Jeddah International Rally which kicked off on November 16 and will continue until November 18.

The competition is being organized by the Jeddah Province under the auspices of Jeddah Governor and Chairman of the Organizing Committee Prince Meshal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, under the management of Abdullah Bakhashab and under the supervision of Saudi Arabian Motor Federation.

In a statement to KUNA on Wednesday, the Head of the club’s Rally Committee Sheikh Athbi Naif Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirmed his confidence in the Kuwaiti racers participating in this rally.

He urged them to put their habitual and regular performances in the competition so that their victory can achieve a reputation befitting the rally sport in Kuwait.

Sheikh Athbi said Kuwait has stayed away from participating in the Jeddah 4WD Rally for too long, but he is confident about the ability of the Kuwaiti racers to excel in all regional and international competitions.

He explained that 37 cars from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates will participate in the rally. Racers from these countries possess quality skills in desert rallies, which will in turn make the rally intense and thrilling.

The racers participating in the Jeddah International Rally include former Middle East Champion from Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Eid Al-Thani and the talented racer Mohammad Al-Manaie.
