‘Jealous lover’ tears up passport

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: An unidentified young woman is said to have torn the passport of another young Jordanian woman to prevent her from leaving the country with a ‘man’, reports Arab Times daily. The daily added, the incident happened inside a café on the Gulf Road when the young woman saw the Jordanian talking with her boyfriend. The woman was shocked to see her boyfriend with the Jordanian and when she asked him who the woman with him was, he said, she was just a co-worker, and that they were going on a business trip. The young woman reportedly lost her temper, pulled the handbag of the Jordanian and tore her passport. The Jordanian then called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. Police arrested the young woman and referred her to the authorities. A case of damaging an official document has been registered against the young woman.

Surprise border visit: Assistant Undersecretary for Ports at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Mansour Al-Awadhi paid a surprise visit to the Al-Nuwaiseeb border port to assess the progress of work and to ensure the commitment of the staff to their work, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said Major- General Al Awadhi has made several observations which will require correction.

Armed robbery: Police are looking for three masked armed men who allegedly broke into a pharmacy and escaped with KD 1,400, reports Al-Rai daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits. Meanwhile, Police have arrested an unidentified Ethiopian housemaid for stealing KD 4,000 from the room of her female sponsor, reports Al-Anba daily
