Jail, deportation overturned in consensual molesting case

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Court of Appeals annulled the verdict of a lower court, which sentenced a man to four years in prison with hard labor followed by deportation for molesting a girl on the rooftop of a residential building in Salwa, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with molesting the victim who is below 21 years old, without coercion, threat, or deception.

Case files indicate that on the day of the incident, the accused communicated with the victim through WhatsApp. She sent him her home address and they met on the rooftop of the house where he kissed her and touched private parts of her body, taking advantage of the situation as there were no other people on the rooftop at the time.
