Jail for catching pigeons

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Environmental Police Department is looking for a person who set a net trap to catch pigeons in Shamiya, reports Al-Rai daily. The suspect was seen in a video clip carrying the pigeons to a wagon, and investigations revealed the wagon belongs to an elderly Kuwaiti man. He will be fined KD 500 or serve one year imprisonment if arrested by security operatives.

Iraq-era shells detonated: Experts from explosives unit went to a location in Salmi and dealt with three shells believed to be of the ordnance left behind by the Iraqi army in 1991, reports Al-Shahed daily. The drive followed a distress call the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received from a citizen who sighted the three strange objects. A case was registered.

Fire in Sharq Hussainiyat: Fire broke out within the premises of a Hussainiyat in Sharq area. No casualties were reported but material losses were incurred, says Al-Seyassah. When the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate received information about the fire, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics and discovered that the fire broke out in a prefabricated room outside the main building of Hussainiyat which contained cooking equipment and sponges.
