Iraqi thief arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3 : Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have brought to an end the activity of an Iraqi who impersonated police and robbed Asians and Arabs, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the arrest came after an Indian filed a complaint with the Maidan Hawally Police Station that an unidentified person stopped him, said he is detective from the Criminal Investigations Department, and demanded to see his ID. He then bodily searched him and escaped with KD 40.

Intensive investigations conducted by securitymen led to arresting the Iraqi in Hawally. During interrogation he admitted to robbing nine people in the same manner. The Indian victim picked the man from a police lineup.
