Iran’s ambassador praises intervention by HH the Amir; Bid to solve issue with Saudis

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Ali Redha Anayti praised His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his response to the keenness of Iran to intervene and solve the issue concerning the Iranian victims of the recent stampede at Mina, Saudi Arabia, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, he indicated that the intervention of His Highness the Amir in this issue has helped ease the visit of the Iranian Health Minister Hassan Hashmi and a member of Iranian Red Crescent Society to Saudi Arabia where they visited the Iranian victims in various hospitals and the members of the Iranian mission for arranging the transportation of the victims to Iran.

The ambassador appreciated the Global Humanitarian Leader His Highness the Amir of Kuwait for his efforts in this regard, indicating that he hopes to improve cooperation in the humanitarian aspect with Saudi authorities.

Meanwhile, Al-Seyassah daily reported that Saudi Arabia has agreed to allow an Iranian airplane into the country in order to transport to Iran the Iranian victims of the recent stampede in Mina. However, Tehran government has not yet taken any procedure in this regard, in response to which Saudi authorities have stressed that the Iranian government will be held responsible for any negligence in this regard.

According to a press statement issued by the Saudi Embassy in Kuwait, as soon as the accident at Mina occurred, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz gave instructions to take all procedures necessary for such cases. It affirmed that Saudi Arabia provided all facilities to the governments and relatives of the victims including the Iranian government, and it agreed to host the Iranian Minister of Health and the accompanying delegation as well as other Iranian officials to check the health status of the injured Iranian pilgrims.
