Iranian gang held smuggling big quantity of drugs by sea

The neatly packed quarter ton of cannabis seized by the Kuwaiti Coast Guards

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: Five Iranian nationals were arrested for attempting to smuggle 248 pieces of hashish worth hundreds of thousands of dinars via sea. According to security sources, the radar system of Marine Force Department noticed a boat infiltrating Kuwaiti territorial waters from northeast Kopat Island. Immediately, marine patrol officers were dispatched to the location to check the identity of the individuals onboard the boat.

After discovering that there are five Iranians on the boat, the board was checked to find 248 pieces of hashish. The five individuals were arrested and referred with the hashish to the concerned authorities for investigations. When questioned, they confessed to attempting to smuggle the hashish into the country for delivering it to an individual who is involved in hashish-peddling. Necessary action was taken.
