‘Int’l exhibition reflects Kuwait’s keenness in scientific research’

exhibitionKUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud Al- Sabah inaugurated the Eighth International Fair for Inventions in the Middle East at the Kuwait Science Club headquarters under the theme ‘Environment and Health.’ Speaking at the event, which was held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah yesterday at the Kuwait Scientific Club headquarters, Sheikh Salman said the exhibition reflects Kuwait’s genuine keenness in scientific research and inventors.

Sheikh Salman said this event, which runs from Nov 16 to Nov 19, 2015, represents a scientific ‘wedding’ which confirms the interest of HH the Amir in scientific research. He pointed to the importance of the idea of the exhibition in terms of environmental care and medical matters.

Sheikh Al-Hamoud in welcoming the participating countries for their innovation and inventions also praised the Scientific Club for exerting tremendous efforts in organizing the exhibition. Al-Hamoud praised the club for good organization of the exhibition and commended the countries participating in the fair for their keenness on development of humanity to achieve prosperity.

Success
He pointed out the exhibition has been recording success year after year as a result of exclusive management of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Iyad Al-Kharafi, and Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfouhi and all the volunteers and wished them more success in future.

The speakers at the event stressed the participation of more than 120 inventors from 30 countries is a global demonstration in the field of scientific research and stressed on the importance of supporting the inventors and encouraging them keeping in mind the development of Arab energies by Arab societies. Chairman of Kuwait Science Club Ahmad Al-Manfouhi expressed gratitude for His Highness the Amir for his patronage calling it the backbone of success of the fair, which was the second fair following the Geneva fair in terms of number of inventors and quality of inventions and value on the scientific level.

Director-General of Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Science (KFAS) Dr Adnan Shehabuddin said the fair succeeded in attracting scores of inventors from the GCC countries, Europe and Asia. Board Chairman of Sabah Al- Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity Barrak Al-Sabeeh said he was pleased to see several inventions displayed in the fair. He said the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center was participating with 20 inventions, some of which were already produced and ready for marketing.

Al-Sabeeh said the center was sponsoring creative persons, helping them to get their inventions patented and produce the prototype. Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the exhibition Engineer Iyad Al- Kharafi stressed the inventions will be applied and marketed in the presence of investors in the exhibition. Al-Kharafi in expressing his gratitude said the presence of more than 120 inventors from 30 countries makes the event significant in its own way and gives the exhibition impetus to continue and become center of creativity and puts Kuwait’s name on the international scientific map.
