Indian held with ‘paan’ and another caught drunk

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: An Indian passenger was arrested at Kuwait International Airport in possession of 250 grams of betel leaves (paan). According to sources, customs officers were checking the luggage of passengers who arrived at the airport from an Asian country when they found the betel leaves inside the luggage of an Indian expatriate. When they questioned him, he said it was intended for personal use. He was arrested and referred him to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested at the airport for attempting to smuggle three Black Label liquor bottles into the country. He had arrived from an Arab country and the liquor bottles were found inside his bag. Necessary action was taken by the relevant authorities.

Indian caught drunk: An Indian expatriate was arrested for drunken driving and crashing into three vehicles on Abdali Road, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, the suspect had consumed liquor and was driving down the road in a highly-intoxicated state when he crashed into three vehicles, one belonging to a Kuwaiti citizen, and other two belonging to two expatriates. They reported the incident to the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior. Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the suspect, referring him to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
